Regular homogeneously traceable nonhamiltonian graphs

چکیده
A graph is called homogeneously traceable if every vertex an endpoint of a Hamilton path. In 1979 Chartrand, Gould and Kapoor proved that for integer n≥9, there exists nonhamiltonian order n. The graphs they constructed are irregular. Thus it natural to consider the existence problem regular graphs. We prove two results: (1) For even n≥10, cubic n; (2) p≥18, 4-regular p circumference p−4. Unsolved problems posed.

Pairs of forbidden induced subgraphs for homogeneously traceable graphs
AgraphG is called homogeneously traceable if for every vertex v ofG,G contains aHamilton path starting from v. For a graphH , we say thatG isH-free ifG contains no induced subgraph isomorphic to H . For a family H of graphs, G is called H-free if G is H-free for every H ∈ H . Determining families of graphs H such that every H-free graph G has some graph property has been a popular research topi...
متن کاملHomogeneously Orderable Graphs
In this paper we introduce homogeneously orderable graphs which are a common generalization of distance-hereditary graphs, dually chordal graphs and homogeneous graphs. We present a characterization of the new class in terms of a tree structure of the closed neighborhoods of homogeneous sets in 2-graphs which is closely related to the defining elimination ordering. Moreover, we characterize the...
متن کاملCharacterizing degree-sum maximal nonhamiltonian bipartite graphs
In 1963, Moon and Moser gave a bipartite analogue to Ore’s famed theorem on hamiltonian graphs. While the sharpness examples of Ore’s Theorem have been independently characterized in at least four different papers, no similar characterization exists for the Moon-Moser Theorem. In this note, we give such a characterization, consisting of one infinite family and two exceptional graphs of order ei...
متن کاملHomogeneously Embedding Stratified Graphs in Stratified Graphs
A 2-stratified graph G is a graph whose vertex set has been partitioned into two subsets, called the strata or color classes of G. Two 2-stratified graphs G and H are isomorphic if there exists a color-preserving isomorphism φ from G to H. A 2-stratified graph G is said to be homogeneously embedded in a 2-stratified graph H if for every vertex x of G and every vertex y of H, where x and y are c...
متن کاملArc reversal in nonhamiltonian circulant oriented graphs
Locke and Witte in 9] have described a class of nonhamiltonian circulant digraphs. We show that for innnitely many of them the reversal of any arc produces a hamil-tonian cycle. This solves an open problem stated in 4]. We use these graphs to construct counterexamples to Add am's conjecture. The smallest one Cay(Z 12 ; 2; 3; 8) 4 is the counterexample with the smallest known number of vertices.
